PROJECT SPECIFICS

ELEVATOR PITCH

"As a proud, old-fashioned fisherman you must protect your harbour from the bots Big Squid sent to evict you, using crafty traps and weapons. They will regret stepping foot on your property!."

GOAL

This project built upon the accumulated experiences from the Spite project and Brush with Dead project.

These two experiences provided us with the opportunity to scope a project centered around fun and engaging gameplay mechanics. We utilized a First Person Perspective, implemented a Physics library in our custom Engine (Kitty Engine), and utilized Node Scripting to develop our features.

A common goal for everyone was to create a game that is fun, entertaining, with a high replayability factor, and truly scalable in terms of content. This included the possibility of adding further features to the project depending on the project's development phases and our own workforce.

DESIGN FOCUS

The design focus was on the gameplay experience, aiming for a game with a strong fun-factor and high replayability.

For this project, I implemented a level that responded to the chosen genre of the game (action tower-defense system), featuring a circular design with various strategic points on the map that players needed to defend to survive enemy waves.

I underwent a thorough process of prototyping, implementation, and further iterations to make the best possible level that aligned with our metrics, gameplay style, and artistic choices.
